A fabulous Christmas at school

Christmas in Malta English schools Gateway School of English GSE Santa Claus and students

Our traditional Christmas event was as successful as ever and students and teachers alike joined the annual coming of Santa to Gateway School of English GSE singing along Mariah Carey’s popular song ‘ Santa is coming to town’. Santa sees you when you’re sleeping but he also sees you when you’re studying English at GSE and learning new skills and this year students sang along and created a wonderful Christmas atmosphere.

Here’s the video of Santa visiting the English langauge school Gateway School of English GSE before Christmas:

We are fully operational and classes held as usual every year in Christmas including Christmas week and New Year’s week. We love this time of the year whereby our students of different nationalities and culture come together to celebrate the end of the year in style and with the perfect home-away-from-home feeling.

The Maltese islands are also the perfect destinations for Christmas and the festive season!  No wonder they have been recommended year on year by various travel websites as the ideal destinations to spend the Christmas holidays in. The streets of the capital city Valletta are nicely decorated with colourful lights and cultural events take place almost every single day, whether it’s the pantomime at the Manoel Theatre or the Malta International Organ Festival, Choir singing at the many beautiful churches across the islands and many more events.  Gozo, the sister island of Malta is no exception!  There’s the live crib at the picturesque town of Ghajnsielem in Gozo that is open from mid December until the first week of January. All churches and chapels in Gozo are worth the visit as they are all beautifully decorated for the festive season with the traditional Maltese crib known as ‘il-presepju’ derived from the Italian word ‘presepio’ displayed in all the churches and some dating back to hundreds of years ago!

Below are some beautiful photos of Valletta’s street decorations:
