The benefits of learning English in an international environment
At Gateway School of English GSE we emphasise on a good international mix of students in our English language classrooms both for our onsite courses in Malta as well as online. We believe that an international environment not only enhances the English language learning experience of our students but also gives students an insight of the world’s diversity and its different cultures which is just as important in today’s globalised world.
Learning English in a multinational environment gives GSE students the opportunity to constantly immerse themselves in the language, making them think, react and speak the language among their peers and not being afraid from making mistakes while they are expressing an opinion. At GSE we also use the communicative approach to language teaching where the emphasis is always on the spoken language.
Through speaking activities, daily discussions on interesting topics, students not only learn the language but also gain insights into the customs, traditions, and values of various cultures making them aware of the world’s diversity and its opportunities. Learning English in an international environment results in better job prospects and also equips individuals with the cross-cultural competence required to thrive in multicultural workplaces.
