10 FREE English Conversation Lessons per week in December & January in Malta
December & January are two great months to spend in Malta, not only to learn and brush up on your English, but to experience a typical Mediterranean festive atmosphere in a mild autumn/winter climate. No wonder Malta was voted one of the top destinations to spend Christmas in by CNN .
The mild Mediterranean winter climate coupled with a unique festive atmosphere during the weeks leading up to Christmas and Christmas week itself are what attract visitors to the Maltese islands in December and January. Beautiful Christmas decorations and street lights adorn the facades of Maltese houses and squares across the country creating the perfect environment for our students to study English and make the most of their free time attending outdoor activities in village squares. Not to mention the traditional handmade Maltese crib exhibitions which are loved and visited by tourists from all over the world. The Maltese simply love the Christmas vibe, and festivities also continue well after Christmas week, almost until the end of January. Unlike many European countries the festive season in Malta is a time to be spent not only with families, but also outdoors, and this is is the perfect recipe for a ‘home-away-from-home’ feeling for our international students. In other words, never a dull moment!
In order to give more students the opportunity to enjoy all of the above, we have come up with an offer whereby students who book a General English Course consisting of 20 lessons per week (for December and January) will get a free upgrade to an Intensive English Group Course consisting of 30 lessons per week, i.e. you will get an extra 10 lessons per week conversation classes free of charge. In other words you will pay for 20 lessons per week and you will receive 30 lessons per week. Sounds like the perfect Christmas gift for you or a loved one? Book Now!
Tips on where to stay during December and January
Our recommendation: stay with a host family! We can match your preferences (if you have any) to the right host family and will provide you with homestay accommodation near the school. All our host families are located within walking distance from school.
We can also recommend a choice of hotel accommodation to suit your budget or a self catering apartment nearby.
Why do we recommend homestay accommodation? Our answer is very simple. You will love the way Maltese families celebrate Christmas surrounded by family and friends. And you will join the family members and their relatives for Christmas lunch and then spend your Christmas evening with friends from school in St Julian’s Bay (Malta’s main entertainment centre and nightlife area).
Gateway School of English is open all through Christmas week so no lessons will be missed.
And this is the way we celebrate Christmas at Gateway 🙂

So we look forward to seeing you at our Christmas/New Year gathering for teachers and students in December because at Gateway, apart from teaching English with passion and professionalism, we also know how to party and make merry together during the festive season 🙂
