Out and about enjoying Malta’s sunny winters!

As February draws closer to an end bringing with it longer days and bluer skies, here in Malta we can finally start to properly enjoy the sunny outdoors. We had a fine time on last Sunday’s excursion exploring the southern part of Malta, which included stops at:
- the flea market in the Marsaxlokk fishing village with its characteristic fishy smells, colourful fishing boats (luzzu in Maltese), and Maltese wares of handcrafts and souvenirs;
- St Peter’s Pool with its glorious natural features and views;
- the prehistoric Hagar Qim and Mnajdra Temples;
- the scenic Blue Grotto in Wied iz-Zurrieq.
The highlight of this week will undoubtedly be the Gozo Carnival in the quiet village of Nadur, which will transform into an ideal hub for revelers, especially those in costume! In our case, right after lessons we will be touring our students around Gozo before the events start so they can soak in the sights of the Gozitan countryside and the tastes and aromas of typical local ftiras and pizzas. We will stop for a typical Gozitan pizza at the famous Maxokk bakery in Nadur. What a way to spend a Friday!
